Flower Kiss Stick High Shine Lip Color in Sweet Peony

It's August! Where did July go??? Honestly, this year is just flying right on by. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Tonight, I'm going to share with you my review, swatches, and photos of the Flower Kiss Stick High Shine Lip Color in Sweet Peony (say that 5 times fast!). It's that Flower brand again - you know the one I've raved about a few times. I did a review of their Lip Service Lip Butter here and their Blush/Bronzer Duo here. Surprisingly, all of the Flower products I've purchased so far have arrived unscathed - phew!

The Flower Kiss Stick High Shine Lip Color is described by Flower Beauty as having:
  • Emollient oils to improve shine for a rich, creamy application
  • Intense color payoff
  • Extreme shine

The packaging is pretty bulky for a lipstick with a weird shape, but I don't mind that. The cap locks into place soundly, and I'm positive it can take a nice roll around the bottom of my handbag and be absolutely fine. You can see which shade you have by the color indicator on the bottom, and as with all Flower products,  comes the lovely rose gold embossed logo stamped right on the front.

I chose the shade Sweet Peony which is a beautiful neutral toned pink with silver and gold micro-shimmer running through it. The finish is very glossy, and moisturizing, but as with glossy formulas, the staying power isn't that long if you're going to be eating or drinking (unless you drink through a straw). If you won't be doing either of those, it lasts pretty well, give or take 4 to 5 hours.

You can probably tell that the color of the indicator on the bottom and the actual product are somewhat different. The indicator shows a more pastel pink shade - so be wary when you're purchasing. I just chose a color that I wouldn't mind wearing and ended up with a color that I love. So, if you're daring, you'll have fun. If not, try to go in the store or search for swatches online. :)

Swatched on my hand

Swatched on my lips - no other makeup.

As you can see, Sweet Peony gives a pretty wash of a natural pink color to the lips. It isn't overly frosty or shimmery, but gives a nice glossy effect. I don't wear any lip balm underneath, because the formula is that moisturizing. When I tried to use a lip balm beneath, it felt too slippery and just plain weird on my lips. Sans lip balm is the way to go with these lipsticks.

Where to buy:
There are 9 shades in this range, and you can see them here. Again, the only place to purchase them is at Walmart stores in the US and the Walmart website. I don't recommend the website - you'll need to read my review here to see why.

What it costs:
The price is $6.98, which is a typical drugstore price for lipsticks.

What do you think of this lipstick and the color I chose? Is this something you would pick up for yourself? Do you have any lipsticks in a similar shade? Recommend some to me! ;)
