Several weeks back, Yon-Ka UK followed me on Twitter, and I, being curious, did a search to find out what this company was all about. I browsed around their site and found that they are the UK extension of a luxury skincare brand based in Paris (Yon-Ka Paris) with products sold mostly through spas and salons. Their name Yon-Ka is symbolic of constant and natural regeneration. You can read more about Yon-Ka here.
I didn't have an established skincare regimen at the time, but I was really interested in starting one. I put on my blogger brains and decided that I wanted to contact Yon-Ka's PR about doing a possible review of their products. I pulled together my media kit and sent a kind, courteous e-mail to them, and not long after, I received a reply, and since I'm US-based, they forwarded me to their Yon-KA USA PR, Jen. Jen asked me what products I would be interested in reviewing, and after completing the online skin diagnosis, I was able to tell her a combination of products, recommended by the diagnosis results, that I would love to try out. I gave her a list of 5 things that interested me, and being as kind as she was, she sent me 4 out of the 5 products in their full size. Onto the first product: Yon-Ka Paris Phyto 58 PS*
Phyto 58 PS is described as:
The ultimate night care to erase all signs of tiredness.
Refined and fast-absorbing, this cream rich in phyto-stimulating rosemary extracts is supreme in revitalizing the epidermis. It erases the signs of fatigue, refines skin texture, evens tone, and brightens the complexion.

Summary of my thoughts on Yon-Ka Phyto 58 PS
Even though I asked for Phyto 58 PNG, which is for normal to oily skin, I find that this version for dry skin works really well on my skin. The Phyto 58 PS has a strong scent of rosemary and other herbal scents in the tube. When I applied it to my face, it smelled quite like Vicks Vapor Rub. Not that I mind. If you're sensitive to scents, I think this may be too strong for you. I do like that it helps with my breathing and helps clear up congestion. Weird side effect, but I'll take it! It is from the Age Defense line, so I'm expecting some long term age defying gravity in the future. :)

Every other night, I apply a very small amount of the white, creamy lotion, around the size of a dime, and massage it into my face. It sinks in quickly, and there is no greasy feeling or long waiting time for my skin to absorb it. It's almost instant, which is amazing. After 4 weeks of use, combined with the other Yon-Ka products, my skin feels so nice! It's smooth and silky, and I can't remember my face ever feeling this nice. I believe that it does do what it says on the tube. My skin feels revitalized, and it doesn't look as patchy and discolored as it did before I started using this range.
A 40ml tube of Phyto 58 PS is sold for around $50-69 depending on the vendor, but I do suggest popping into a salon to see the products in person and also to see if you can handle the scent, since it is quite strong.
Like I said, I received a few more products from this luxury skincare brand, so stay tuned for my thoughts on those!
