If you love baths, bath bombs are a great way to infuse skin loving ingredients into the luscious warm water that takes all the stresses and worries of the world away, at least for a little while. Bath bombs are very easy to make and customize based on your tastes and moods. Today, I have a Green Tea & Rosemary Bath Bomb for energizing and refreshing the senses.
RECIPE - MAKES 2 BATH BOMBS (muffin tin sized)
1/3 CUP CITRIC ACID
1/3 CUP BAKING SODA
1/6 CUP CORNSTARCH
1/6 CUP OIL - COCONUT, JOJOBA, OLIVE, SWEET ALMOND...
SPRAY BOTTLE FILLED WITH DISTILLED WATER
1 TBSP GREEN TEA POWDER (OPTIONAL)
SPRINKLE OF ROSEMARY (OPTIONAL)
6 DROPS ESSENTIAL OIL OF YOUR CHOICE (OPTIONAL)*
MUFFIN TIN OR OTHER METAL OR SILICONE MOLD
FORK OR OTHER MIXING TOOL
*Anything that touches essential oils can never be used for food purposes again. Please take that in mind when choosing your tools.
You can find all the ingredients I used at Natures Garden or your local health food store.
Add citric acid into the bowl.
Add baking soda.
Mix it well to evenly distribute the oil.
Add green tea powder or other additions.
Mix it well.
If mixture is dry and crumbly, hold a spray bottle filled with distilled water at least 10 inches away and mist over mixture. DO NOT ADD TOO MUCH WATER OR YOU WILL ACTIVATE THE BATH BOMB.
Continue to MIST AND MIX until you can scoop up some of the mixture and it holds itself together when pressed.
Fill the mold.
Press in herbs on top (or bottom before filling the mold).
Cover with a paper towel and let dry 4-8 hours until hardened.
Pop out of mold.
