TARTE CHIC TO CHEEK DELUXE AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH SET

Tarte Chic to Cheek Amazonian Clay Blush Set. Hello, blush lovers! Tarte has come out with some gorgeous gift sets this season, and if you're one for blushes, the Chic to Cheek set is definitely worth a look. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush formula is one of the smoothest powder formulas I have ever tried. I currently have two full size blushes, and I've been wanting to purchase more. Lucky for me, they came out with this set, because I am in love!

TARTE CHIC TO CHEEK AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH SET
Set includes:
Amour - candy pink
Classic - soft apricot pink
Prim - plum nude
Daydream - rosy pink

The Tarte Chic to Cheek blush set comes with four (4) deluxe-size blushes (0.05 oz). Holding a quarter of the amount of a regular-sized blush, but you still get a lot of product for the price tag. Priced at $35 for the set, you can try out a range of different shades instead of committing to one full-sized product ($26). This set is available at wherever Tarte products are sold like Ulta, Tarte, and Macy's

Looking to try any of Tarte's holiday gift sets? What do you think of the Chic to Cheek blush set?

Perfect for any lip product addict like myself, this set offers a range of shades from neutral to deep red. Encased in UD's statement gunmetal gray and vivid purple tubes, these lipsticks add a nice rocker chic and edgy vibe to any collection. The formulation of these lipsticks are creamy and smooth with excellent pigmentation. Don't let the mini size fool you. These little beauties pack a punch!

URBAN DECAY FULL FRONTAL LIPSTICK STASH
Ladyflower - Bright rose pink
Crush - Hot pink
Illicit - Sheer baby pink
Gash - Deep red with slight red shimmer
Liar - Pinky nude brown

The Full Frontal Lipstick Stash Set also includes a full-size 24/7 Lip Pencil in Ozone which is transparent and perfect for use with all lip colors.

Personally, I love all of the shades, but the way Crush looks in the tube is insane! A gorgeous rose with a golden sunset shine is how I would describe it. Stunning! You can pick up this set ($39) for a limited time online at stores like at Nordstrom, Sephora, Ulta, Urban Decay.

ELF MINERAL FACE PRIMER | TONE ADJUSTING & BRIGHTENING

ELF Mineral Face Primer in Tone Adjusting Green & Brightening Purple. It's been a while since I've used a face primer, but I saw these two primers at the drugstore and decided to see what all the fuss was about. ELF Mineral Face Primers come in four (4) shades, Clear, Tone Adjusting Green, Brightening Purple, and Radiant Glow. I picked up Tone Adjusting Green to address my pigmentation and redness issues and Brightening Purple to help brightening up my dull complexion.

ELF MINERAL FACE PRIMER
The formula feels like a typical silicone gel that is less oily than other primers I've tried. It dries smooth and makes my skin feel quite soft. As far as tone adjusting and brightening goes, I don't believe either of these helped with those issues. However, these primers did help smooth out my skin which resulted in a smoother foundation application. At $6.00 a bottle, I think these work pretty well for base preparation, but don't count on them to address any other types of issues.

Have you tried any of the ELF primers? What are some of your favorite face primers?

MAYBELLINE VOLUM' EXPRESS THE MEGA PLUSH MASCARA

Maybelline Volum' Express the Mega Plush Mascara. When I discovered that Maybelline had discontinued my beloved One by One mascara, my heart broke just a little bit. One by One (Waterproof) was my all-time, holy grail, favorite mascara. Ever. Now, it's gone. I'll have to cherish my last bottle to the very last drop. Anyway, I'm on the hunt for a new favorite, and since Maybelline waterproof formulas deliver pretty decent results, I picked up the Mega Plush mascara in Very Black, Waterproof.

MAYBELLINE VOLUM' EXPRESS THE MEGA PLUSH MASCARA
The Mega Plush wand has traditional bristles that are short on the ends and get longer towards the middle. In the middle of the wand is a flexible area that allows the wand to bend during application. To be honest, the bendy wand makes the mascara somewhat difficult to apply as it flexes as I brush through my lashes depositing a very light coat. This requires a few applications in order to gain the desired finish of longer, thicker lashes. The formula does, however, hold a curl pretty well as it is light and dries quickly. After several hours of wear, the formula does not smudge or smear on my lower lid and continues to lock the curl in place.
The photo above shows one (1) coat on manually curled lashes. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the formula of the Mega Plush Mascara as it holds the curl pretty well. However, I do wish that Maybelline would bring back the One by One (Waterproof). I miss it already.

What are your thoughts on this mascara if you've tried it? What is your favorite drugstore mascara?

MAKEUP SETTING SPRAYS | URBAN DECAY, MAC, & CLINIQUE

Makeup Setting Sprays. Do you need them? It depends. Not all makeup setting sprays are created equal. I've been trying out a few setting sprays these past few months, three high end brands a couple DIY recipes I've concocted myself. Here are my thoughts.

MAKEUP SETTING SPRAYS
URBAN DECAY DE-SLICK MAKEUP SETTING SPRAY FOR OIL CONTROL ($12 for 2 travel size 1oz here)
De-slick is meant to keep oil at bay throughout the day, helping makeup last longer and keeping skin shine-free. Does it work? On my oily skin, it works pretty well at keeping me shine free. I wouldn't use it under makeup, since my foundation doesn't tend to sit well on top of it. Others might have no issue with this though.

CLINIQUE MOISTURE SURGE FACE SPRAY THIRSTY SKIN RELIEF ($22 for 4.2oz here)
Moisture Surge quenches the skin's thirst, keeping it refreshed and dewy. Does it work? Yes, it does. It keeps my skin feeling cool and fresh, and it also sits nicely on top of my makeup. Don't use this if you don't like the dewy look, though.

MAC Fix+ ($10 for travel size 1oz here)
Fix+ is used to set makeup and keep it looking radiant. Does it work? It works really well at keeping my makeup in place all day. It also adds a dewy, radiant finish, so if you like the matte look, only spritz a very small mist or use a different setting spray.

Worth the price tag or should I DIY?
It depends really. If you like DIY projects, you might prefer to make your own sprays, as they work the same way, and you can experiment. All you need is some distilled water and glycerin. I like to use a 4 (water) to 1 (glycerin) ratio. The more glycerin you use, the more dewy (and sticky) the final product is. You can also add different essential oils to treat different skin issues and preferences. I personally like lemon and grapefruit, because they wake me up and smell really nice. You could add tea tree to calm and treat acne if your skin prefers it.

If you like ready made products, there are really great deals on setting sprays. I always buy travel size versions, because I like to keep different kinds and brands handy. It's nice to have a variety to suit my moods.

What do you think of setting sprays? Have any favorites?

PUTTING THINGS INTO PERSPECTIVE | SUNDAY SIT DOWN

Today, I'm probably going to ramble a bit. Lately, I've been feeling very... down? Is that the word? I'm not sure. I don't really know what I'm feeling, to be honest. I am perfectly fine physically, but then again, I've always had sadness mentally. Maybe I need to change how I think about things, about my life.
My life is not bad, and even though I want different things, I am okay with what I do have. I have a roof over my head. I have a supportive husband and two loving, crazy children, and I have close friends and family who I don't have to worry will betray me.
I was inspired by a post by Stacey, The Expat Make-up Addict, and while it may not be easy, I need let go of all the bad things, and then I can let happiness in. I don't have much to complain about, so I know that instead of complaining, I should be thankful for the things that I do have. The glass is always half full, right? Well, as long as there's something in the glass, I consider myself fortunate. There is too much loss, hate, and crime in the world, and I would be a fool to be anything less than grateful for what I have.

I'm thankful for all my blog and Youtube friends. You are all my daily inspirations.

To Stacey
Whatever it is you're feeling - it's okay. You've proven you're a fighter - a damn glamorous one at that. Take your time, and do whatever it is you need to do. We will still be here, and still love you just the same. <3 Always on #TeamStace!

There are so many things going on this month supporting Breast Cancer Awareness, and this is no exception. FALL FASHION | A BEAUTY MOMENT

FALL FASHION

1. The faux leather moto jacket. I have fallen in love with the style of this jacket. It's edgy yet still feminine with a kick of "don't mess with me".

2. Lace skater dresses. Classy, fun, and flirty.

3. Gemstone bullet necklaces. This one has a skull bail, but you can find these all over Etsy. They're my new kryptonite.

4. Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Crossbody. I love Rebecca Minkoff's style. It goes so well with faux leather and studs.

5. Studded gloves. I probably won't get this exact Valentino pair right here, but something similar would go so well with the leather and lace.

6. Dr. Martens Drench Laceup Boots. Docs have been my favorite shoes of all time. I'll wear them with dresses or jeans, hell, I'll wear them under a wedding dress!

What styles do you tend to gravitate towards during the fall and winter season? Like any of my picks?
