Earlier this week, I reviewed a really great L'Oreal waterproof eye makeup remover, and I've learned that quite a few of you are in the market for eye makeup removers. I do have another review for you, and this is for eye makeup remover wipes by the brand Simple.
I haven't really heard too much about this brand until recently, but I came across a selection of Simple products at Kmart as I was searching for a good eye makeup remover. The one that I usually use - L'Oreal - wasn't in stock, so I needed a substitute. I read the packaging of the Simple brand wipes and was drawn in by the "removes waterproof mascara" declaration. So, I bought a pack for around $7 and went home to use it.
This is what it looks like:
The cotton pad is quilted on one side and is soaked in their remover formula. I've seen many great reviews about the facial wipes, but I do have to say, that I am very disappointed in this product. When I removed my eye makeup with this, I felt like it was burning my eyes off. I don't really know why, and I don't understand it, but it burned so terribly. I tried it a few more days after the initial trial just in case it was a fluke or something, but no... it just kept burning my eye and the skin around my eyes. :(
I have been using these as facial wipes, and they do work well on the rest of my face without any burning, but I keep them FAR away from my sensitive eye area. I'm going to finish up the package, but will definitely not be repurchasing these again. Ever. Sorry Simple.

DeleteI hate facial wipes and eye makeup removers that burns your eyes. Some of them claim to be gentle but they are not! I have issues with this as well. I also prefer the wipes that are very soft and very moist.

Deletei've tried these before and they stung my eyes too!! I don't even have sensitive eyes - I've heard simple really isn't as 'simple' as it claims to be!xx
